全山石艺术中心是由全山石艺术基金会支助下的民办公益性油画艺术研究和展示机构；是一个以探索油画艺术的本体语言和油画民族精神为宗旨，以收藏和展示中外优秀油画作品为平台、进行油画艺术研究、交流、传播、培训和服务的场所。

       艺术中心座落在杭州钱塘江畔之江度假区，占地面积15000平方米,建筑面积5500平方米,展览和陈列面积3000平方米。有固定陈列厅、流动展览厅、中央大厅、学术报告厅、油画工作室、油画材料实验室、库房、图书文献资料室、办公室及其它公共服务设施。

       艺术中心的固定陈列室主要陈列：油画家全山石各个时期的代表作品，及艺术中心收藏的世界油画原作，对公众免费开放。流动陈列室根据需要举办各种中外油画作品展览。

       艺术中心将邀请有成就的中外艺术家进行创作、研究。组织油画培训，提携优秀青年油画人才。举办各类艺术讲座，并通过出版、传媒促进交流活动，让中心成为油画艺术提高与普及的平台。为确保艺术中心的学术水准,由全国有成就的著名的油画家和美术理论家组成艺术委员会，对各项艺术活动进行指导。

       艺术中心的建筑紧紧围绕展示油画功能需求而设计,方正大气、开合有致，犹如“基石”含有象征和隐喻之意。所有展厅和画室层高5米，全部采用天光照明,根据杭州季节的光照变化,科学地计算天窗的合理朝向，并可自动调节照明。建筑采用地源热泵系统,常年室内保持恒温恒湿环保节能，不仅有利油画作品的保护,也给观众带来舒适的赏画环境。中心的建筑建立在绿影扶疏的花木丛中,其间放置着与油画文脉相连的欧洲经典雕塑,在常青的园林和洁白的建筑墙体相互衬映下更显示艺术中心典雅的文化氛围。

       艺术中心还设有对外服务体系：如网站、鉴赏活动、电脑自动查询、图书商店、咖啡茶座等服务，是一个公众学习、研究、展示、赏识油画的家园。

Introduction 

Quan Shanshi Art Center is a private nonprofit institution supported by Quan Shanshi Arts Foundation.  It will exhibit fine art and promote oil painting research.  Our main purpose is to explore oil painting ontology and its national spirit by collecting and displaying outstanding oil paintings from around world.  We hope to establish service for oil painting research, exchanges, dissemination, and training.

The Art Center is located on the banks of the Qiantang River near Hangzhou Zhejiang Resort.  It sits on an area of 15,000 square meters with a building of 5,500 square meters.  The facility has an exhibition area of 3,000 square meters.  The art center consists of a permanent exhibit hall, temporary exhibit hall, central hall, academic conference room, painting studios, oil painting materials lab, storage house, library, offices, and other public services.

The Art Center is free to the public.  The permanent exhibition hall will mainly display representative works by Quan Shanshi from different periods and original paintings from around the world collected by the Art Center.  The temporary exhibit hall will display a variety of oil painting exhibitions from around the world according to needs. 

The Art Center will invite accomplished artists from around the world to research and create art.  It will also organize oil painting training courses to support outstanding young and talented artists.  The Art Center hopes to increase the popularity of the oil painting through the organization of various art seminars, publication, and media exchange.To ensure academic standards of the art center, the art center will form an art council by inviting the most accomplished oil painters and art theorists home and abroad to guide all artistic activities.

The Art Center building is designed to show functional requirements in oil painting. It is foursquare and grand and just like the "cornerstone" which contains the meaning of symbols and metaphors.  All exhibition rooms and studios reach the height of 5 meters and uses daylight based on Hangzhou’s seasonal illumination changes.  These light levels are scientifically calculated to control the sunroof, which are adjusted automatically to optimize lighting.  The building uses a geothermal heating system to maintain constant temperature and humidity while reducing energy use year round.  This system is not only conducive to the protection of the oil paintings, but also gives the visitors a comfortable environment to appreciate the art collection.The building is built on a green full of trees and flowers with European classical sculpture on the grounds.  The evergreen garden together with the white wall of the building has created the elegant art atmosphere of the Art Center.

The Art Center also provides public services, such as website, appreciation activities, computer automated search system, bookshop, cafe, etc.  It’s a public home for learning, research, exhibition and appreciation in oil paintings.
